In blogger limbo
Some little birds have told me that the redirect from Blogger to Wordpress isn't working. So I'll leave this blog up for now. If you've got bookmarks, please change them.

Nice blog! I like your stories about the races and especially the personal worst times listed. A nice light side of things. Good luck on getting your times down.
I had just started jogging recently and was really pleased with the flab busting effect it was having. But I was
getting terrible broken veins on my thighs. When I went to the derm they said the running was causing this.
I cant find much on the web but wearing gel soled trainers apparantly helps, as does running on grass. Does anyone have any suggestions? Plus which are the best trainers to get? They are clearly an investment. I want to keep it up, but having the veins whipped out was expensive and really hurt!!!
Hi, Louise. I'm over at http://raceslikeagirl.com now.
To answer your question (or rather, not answer it), I've no experience with vascular issues and running. Since this seems like more than a skin issue, maybe consult with a doc who specializes in vein-related issues?
As for trainers, I'd say to go to a good local running shop (meaning a store that caters to runners, not just sells running shoes) for help finding a shoe that fits your foot type. Once you find a pair that works, buy more than one pair since the models change every year.
Hi
I'm going to try the new Kayano 14 from Asics - they seem the most super cushioned shoe on the market unless anyone knows otherwise
